How I cured my Psoriasis completely and permanently!
by Nick van 't End
There are a lot of articles and information you can find online, but it is hard to find something that really works. In this article I only want to give you the cure that worked for me. I introduced it too my grandpa and it helped him as well. So I only hope it could do the same for you!
First what is Psoriasis(the official description)
Psoriasis is a skin disease that causes scaling and inflammation (pain, swelling, heat, and redness). Skin cells grow deep in the skin and slowly rise to the surface. This process is called cell turnover, and it takes about a month. With psoriasis, it can happen in just a few days because the cells rise too fast and pile up on the surface.
Most psoriasis causes patches of thick, red skin with silvery scales. These patches can itch or feel sore. They are often found on the elbows, knees, other parts of the legs, scalp, lower back, face, palms, and soles of the feet. But they can show up other places such as fingernails, toenails, genitals, and inside the mouth. ( 1 )
This general description is nice but what is the cause behind these inflammatory effects?
How I see it, there are a lot of toxins in your body, your organs are not able to deal with them or it's just too much for your organs at that moment that your body's reaction is to get rid of these toxins by inflammation. The same happens when you get sick, your body is heating up to sweat out toxins. In this case you're not ill as much that the inflammatory effects will cause sweating but it is slowly shedding your skin and you are left with an inflammatory skin that iches and even cracks open.
In order to really heal we need to fully understand the cause even more!
So where do these toxins come from?
What really helped me to get rid of psoriasis completely is to get rid of toxins and to improve my immune system.
I made 3 main categories in order to fully understand how I cured myself, and got rid of psoriasis for good.
Psoriasis cure categories:
2. Thoughts and emotions
First is food, you are what you eat.
Eating a lot of fat, drinking alcohol, etc will add to the amount of toxins in your body.
First of all check if you have any allergies on food. This will have a major impact on your body. Please check this, your doctor can tell you.
Since you read this and propably dealing with psoriasis issues yourself, it is likely your body has build up a lot of toxins and your organs have had a lot of work to do and are tired or even depleted. So it is a good idea to change your diet to prefent toxins to build up and to give your skin and your organs the right amount of nutritions to heal.
I've put a list of food that helped me to heal and another list of foods that made my psoriasis worse. This last list is also known for adding toxins and causing inflammatory effects in general.
List of food to eat / drink
+ fibres, such as brown rice, brown bread, bananas
+ walnuts and leguminous vegetables
+ vegetables, such as broccoli, paprika
+ fetty fish, such as mackerel, salmon.
+ lemon and lime for the acids
List of food to avoid or stop eating completely
- no more alcohol
- less or no sugar,
- less calories, such as pastas, cereal, craps in general
- gist additions, watch the packages of many soups, sauces, gravy, and almost everything like meat, cakes, etc have flavouring additives in them. Monosodium glutamate, also known as MSG, Ve-tsin or E621 is used as a flavour enhancing agent, in many kinds of food products to enhance their original flavour. Try to avoid using pre made anything. It's very nice and cheaper to go to the local Chinese store get some herbs and spices and make your own sauce and soups.
- saturated fat & trans-fatty acids , such as friet foods, French fries and all fast foods in general.
- Fatty red meats
- Dairy products
- Processed foods
- less white bread, white rice
In general alcohol will become sugar in your body, lots of calories from pastas will be converted into sugar in your body and in almost all foods are added sugars. Combining this with an already sweet and full of sugar diet this will lead to too many sugar toxins for your body to handle. Sugar is one of the main causes of toxin buildup in the body and trying to leave them out of your diet, will be hard, but a very rewarding experience.
Because for years you might be like me and just love sweet stuff, so toxins might have build up so much that several organs might be effected. In order to have them function properly again it is a very good idea to do a 3 week or more cleanse of your liver, kidneys and intestines. This article is not covering how to do a cleanse but you can easily find these online or even better with your local dietician.
Eat slower, for your body to regenerate faster it is a good idea to eat slower and take smaller bites of food in your mouth. This will help to add more fluits from your mouth, and mixed with the food will help you with digesting it with less energy loss and less strain on your organs.
Everyone's taste and preferences are very different, but in order to help you choose a diet I put down what I ate during the day.
The following diet helpt me a lot.
Breakfast: 2 bananas, 2 apples, handful of walnuts.
For autumn and winter time change the bananas and apples with a soup. Preferably with ginger, garlic, coriander and other warming ingredients.
I vary with indian, thai or Chinees dish for lunch.
Fish and some brown bread for the fibers for dinner.
Soups, a major variety of different soups with no added salts, are very well for digestion and can boost your immune system.
During the day drink a lot of water, to transport the toxins out of my body.
Of course a healthy diet is when you eat a wide range of foods and just eating every day the same foods is not healthy at all. What I'm asking you here is to change it up and try to integrate some of the foods suggested if they feel right for you, because your body will tell you.
2. Thoughts and emotions
I started this article with food, because i believe a lot can be achieved by changing your diet, but the most important and most of the causes of inflammation is by suppression of emotions.
Anger, sadness and anxiety, so called unwanted thoughts, we rather push them away, but this is exactly the problem. Not expressing these emotions will cause this energy to be stuck in your body. Stuck energy will causes organs/cells to not flow toxins away from that certain area, ending up with a toxins build up.
In today's society we have learned not to express these emotion anymore, it's even worse when you have a introverted personality type or when ever these emotions come up, you feel guilty. Energy needs to flow, not flowing means toxic build up or even death. Look around you everything in the universe is constantly moving and changing, stagnation is going against the flow of life against nature.
For example when you get angry your body becomes very hot, you build up lots of energy and this build up energy is release by screaming, shouting and heat. After release the emotion passes and another comes into play.
For example you get angry at work, are affraid of losing your job, it's in our society not cool to loose your temper and all that heat, all that build up energy is now stuck in your body. Of course it would be nice to not get angry about certain things, but if you're not a 100 year old yogi you probably still get angry and it's then better to let these emotions out.
How I deal with these thoughts and emotions. All emotions are real, but all emotions are derived from thoughts and not all thoughts, actually most thoughts have nothing to do with reality.
Preventing the emotions.
So I tried to deal with the cause of the emotions through meditation, writing my thoughts down and questioning the reality of them and simply trying to not take everything so seriously, including especially myself.
When emotions do come up, I try to deal with them right on the spot, which of course is possible, by for example taking some distance and in a area where it is ok to oscream it off, cry or just walking it off. Or I start walking for a moment or talking about it with someone or even ask a hug from a close colleague.
You can of course find your own ways.
If you haven't dealt with the emotions right on the spot it's a good way to deal with them as soon as possible! Several things can help, sport (see topic 3. Lifestyle), Holotropic breathing, and again meditation by focusing on your body and your emotions. And of course by simply shouting, screaming and crying like you did when you were little. If you forgot how to do this, look at children they know exactly what to do.
How to release emotional energy, look at this link how to do this!
Having a lifestyle without sports, working under stress and on the other hand trying to release stress by compensating with going out a lot and not having structure and set times for your body to eat, sleep and waking up will add to the strain on your body and also deplete your mental health.
Lifestyle is also a though one to change, but what is more important your health or your TV show...
Changing your lifestyle will not only feel good in the end but you would like nothing else because everything you do just feels good and it becomes second nature to you.
The lifestyle for most people is waking up, sit in the car to work, sitting at your desk at work, taking your lunch in the cafetaria while sitting and you go home in your car, and later sit in front of the TV... you get the point we are sitting why too much. And the half an hour movement or exercise prescribed by our government is definitely not enough!
What this lifestyle does to your psoriasis
Hardly any movement will stagnate the blood flow, and will deprive your organs and cells from enough oxygen and other minerals and vitamins. So toxins can't be well transported out of your body and cells are not getting the proper nutrition they need to function harmoniously.
We can conclude that to get rid of your psoriasis inflammation you need to get more blood circulation, thereby oxygen and other nutritions to go to not only your skin but to all cells of your body.
What I did was to change my job from a sitting to a standing more active position, namely teaching. Also I am walking every day in the break time. And got as much exercise as possible during the day.
I live in the Netherlands and here it is common to use a bicycle instead of the car for almost everything, this really helps my body and I would suggest this to everyone. If your not planning to change your job any time soon, try to see what you can do within the circumstances your in at this moment, what could you change even if it's walking to the coffee machine more times instead of sitting down another hour in a row.
Ok what else did I do to help my body and get rid of these toxins and thereby psoriasis for good.
Every time I took a shower I used grey looking sea salts to treat my skin, I would grab a hand full put it in a cub of warm water and at the end of my shower would pour this over all of my body, not just the psoriasis effected parts. After the shower, drying my skin softly and gently I put Cocunut oil!
This mix really made a lot of difference for me and for my grandpa. Cocunut oil seemed to have a cool down effect and would counter the inflammatory effects.
Use shampoo without alcohol, perfume, witch-hazel , aromatic substance, menthol, pepermunt, eucalyptus. These ingredients will dry out your skin. Use neutrale ph without any of the above mentioned additives. Keep in mind you do not have to shower every day, yes if you are sweating easily it is wisely to do this, the sweat will have a scraping effect on your skin and after sport shower as quickly as possible, but to shower every day with shampoo is unnecessary and will dry out your skin. So try to shower when ever necessary and without shampoo or with PH neutral shampoo.
Reduce stress & improve your immune system.
Since psoriasis has a lot to do with your immune system and stress, it is wisely to look at your life and make a list of all the things that adds stress to your life. Are there any baby steps you can take to alter some of these aspects?
Improve your immune system, take some more vitamins and again you could try a liver cleanse for about a month.
Less work & more sun
The sun did wonders to my skin, a week of being everyday in the sun with my skin exposed to the sun, especially the psoriasis parts for about 30 min without any sunscreen made my skin become that of a baby again. I noticed many differences between winter and summer/ spring time. Of course in winter the air becomes drier and the organs need to work harder to keep me warm, but even in the winter you could try this for about half an hour and get some rays to heal your skin.
I also went on going to the sauna, especially in winter times when there was less sun. The sauna will increase your blood flow, you will sweat out toxins and your immune system will increase by regular visits to the sauna.
So here you go, a lot has changed in my life and I'm happy that I got completely psoriasis free in about 8 months. This process took me longer because I was trying all sort of things and finally got the perfect ingredients to overcome this dis-ease. I hope you will find some or maybe all of the information here useful! Please try the best mix of changes that work for you and I hope that these will be successful in healing your psoriasis as it did mine!!!
Please if you have any questions or want to share your thoughts and your process down in the comments, I would be happy to answer any questions and hope to hear a wonderful recovery towards a skin that of a baby 🙂
